Open House

Something to think about...

In little over a month, South Shore Vocational Technical High School will open its doors for Open House. As a regional school without a dedicated feeder, Open House is our opportunity to welcome the public and let them know what a great school we are. It is our chance to show prospective students and their families what we have to offer.

South Shore has 50 years of proven success in providing a high quality vocational education for students in grades 9-12. South Shore provides a safe and secure learning environment. South Shore integrates 21st century skills into routine instruction and prepares students for post-secondary college and career options. South Shore is the best kept secret on the South Shore and it is time for us to spread the word!

How can we do that?

Start with your classroom and your shop. Is it ready for company? If you were a parent touring the school would you be impressed or concerned?

Take a look at your hallway? How do the bulletin boards look? Are they neat and current? Do they convey the spirit of your instruction? Do they display student work? Have they been checked for grammar and spelling?

What do you think would improve Open House? Is there something that we should do that we don't do? Is there something that we should stop doing?

The success of our Open House depends on us all. A successful Open House will generally lead to a large pool of candidates who are looking for a high quality education in a small, friendly school setting. You are welcome to share any suggestions that you have for Open House, no matter how large or small.

Looking forward to your input!
